Well-organized, thought provoking activities were the norm. I thoroughly enjoyed it and found the information valuable and relative to my work. Good examples of work. Nice to have grades online. An example of the revised project would be helpful I wish all the graduate instructors I have had were as well-organized with class activities. Everything fit together well.
Excellent. It was informative when I was unsure on how to proceed with a project. The rubrics and examples were helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed the course. The variety of activities, film clips, diversified reading material, lectures, papers and presentations were all helpful in applying the concepts to my professional career. I was pleased to be in this class. I actually learned the material and it was beneficial to my professional understanding. Enjoyed the sense of humor. One of the VERY FEW classes that I was not bored. Clips were entertaining yet pulled the reading material right into focus. Good job of teaching, especially if you can keep the interest of a bunch of old administrators after work!!!
This was one of the best classes in the doctoral program. I appreciate that you treated us as professionals. The use of videos was appropriate and certainly emphasized many  points. Thank you! Information was easily attainable.
We also enjoyed the class in which many of us were a bit apprehensive going into. I believe we all enjoyed your relaxed manner and approach to the class and subject. The student class presentations were excellent for the most part, though I personally thought some of the connections to your course were a bit of a stretch.  The various web sites you provided were interesting, and I have booked marked the one with the tests and enjoyed spending time there. The one page papers were a good exercise. The weekly readings may have been a bit much and difficult for those of us in educational leadership to grasp. Quite possibly a few less readings each week would have been better. Go for the quality rather than quantity issue. The book was far more interesting and useful than anticipated. I will not sell mine.  Your revisions and approach to our needs in our field shows flexibility and wisdom. Your fairness and collegiality will quite possibly place you as a request on many dissertation committees. I do not make it a practice at my age to hide behind anonymity. My best to you also and hope our paths will cross again.
The course was uniquely different from most of the other courses we have taken. Incorporating video along with discussion provided for an effective learning experience. Overall, I believe the course is an excellent part of the requirements for our program. Truthfully, I did not use the website much at all other than to look at the syllabus when I did not have the written copy on hand. I cannot think of any specific changes that would enhance either. I enjoyed the class.
This course was excellent! The links were one of the benefits that I used most. I really thought that the presentations at the end could have been deleted but after reflection, I learned a great deal more about what others were doing! The instructor came across that he generally cared about his students and was always well prepared. This has been a rare in the doctoral program. Thanks!
Having extensive study in psychology in the course of 2 masters degrees and an Ed. S., much of what was covered in the text was familiar, particularly the "classical" studies. However, the more recent work has not been in my field and I did find some of it interesting. Of particular interest was the information on the self/self-concept/self-esteem. Some of the other topics were further afield and more difficult to relate to education. Overall, the information was interesting and for those who have not had as much study of psychology, perhaps more novel. I did find much of the extra assigned reading redundant to the text. I liked the additional comment on the website regarding the topics to be covered. This added nicely to the readings but was not redundant. Be more judicious in the assignment of additional readings. Make sure that they add to the text rather than just repeat what is in the text. Make sure that the presentation assignment and paper assignment are clearly defined. I understood that the paper was a proposal-type document for a study; I did not get the idea from the presentations that others had the same conceptualization of the project. Also, 3-5 pages is not sufficient to cover a proposal well. I felt that we were marked off for areas that we had minimized because of page restrictions. End result was fine; immediate reaction was intense and not nice. I've enjoyed the dialogue and found the course one of the less stressful in the program. Perhaps it's just that this was our last semester of coursework and I'd finally worked out how to manage the load???? Whatever, it was fun.
This class was very interesting.  I enjoyed most of the, almost too many, assigned readings.  However, the readings are necessary to build a perspective when discussing issues in class.  The use of technology was wonderful.  This class was engaging.  I appreciate the limited use of lecturing.  At some point in the semester, I forgot about the webpage.  I did enjoy the information available.  Perhaps a great focus on the activities presented on the site, and a decreased number of assigned readings.  Great class! Great Class!
: Of all the doctoral courses that I was required to take, this course was by far my favorite. Really! Dr. Whatley made each class interesting and fun. I particularly liked the various self-evaluations. I just hate that we did not review more of them in class. The course is great! The website activities could be discussed in class more often. What a GREAT way to end one's doctoral course work!!!
I thought the course was outstanding.  I used the website to get an idea what you were looking for in our weekly papers. No suggestions. After working a twelve hour, sitting in class for another three hour lecture seems impossible. I really appreciated the way you avoided this style of instruction and really made class interesting. The use of video is an excellent technique, and I, for one, really appreciated the change of pace. Learning, this semester, was really fun. Also, as this was my last official class of my college career, it was very nice to leave with a positive memory. Thanks for a great semester.
This was an excellent course for practical survey of social topics important to educators! Your website was very well done!  I provided both important materials concerning the course and various personal and professional information for student of various levels. No suggestions. (Retain the integrated use of media as you teach this course...it was a most effective teaching strategy.) The course and your pedagogy were both effective and thoroughly enjoyable!
