Overall, I thought that the course was very beneficial, especially the part that I learned about research. I liked having the videos as part of the class because they made the course more interesting and easier to relate to the book.

Did not use for my course. Only used the website for the information on the syllabus and class information and assignments. More information on research, including data and APA style.  This course was a good course to have in our curriculum. Dr. Whatley was always quick to give us feedback. He offers his help and expertise. I feel that I learned a great deal in his class. Dr. Whatley was always prepared, and he encouraged class participation.
It was a good course with a lot of interaction among class members. That is something our cohort had not experienced before. N/A Maybe, the course material could have been covered more indepth. However, I realize the idea was to expose us to a wide variety of psych philosophy. The videos were great. I think some of them have made a lasting impression on me.
Overall, I think the course deserves an "A" grade. The reading assignments were appropriate for the course and the instructor did a very good job leading discussions and presenting material to the class. I wish that we had taken this course earlier in the program so that I would have had a better understanding of the theories available for use in a theoretical framework. The sample proposal was somewhat helpful. However, I must say that I was less than impressed with the quality of the paper. Also, the proposal checklist helped in writing my proposal. Some of the other sites were useful as well. I would like to have utilized the website in meeting the course requirements. It would have been nice if we had not had to drive to Valdosta every Saturday. We might have posted discussion responses and sent our papers via email. Although the class discussions were livley and I did enjoy the video clips, driving to Valdosta every Sat after working a full week was extremely tiring. I think that the university must utilize available technology to a greater degree in order to make their programs more attractive to potential students. I appreciate the manner in which the instructor responded to individual students and to the class as a whole. While some instructors assign grades that reflect personal preferences toward individuals, this instructor apparently assigns grades based on the quality of work. May he continue to engage in this practice.
Interesting, relevant different perspectives other than those presented in the text discuss the points in the text a little more closely quite possibly the highlight of the doctoral program
Very well taught. Social Pychology is a new subject to me. You provided a good overview of the topic plus help with research. You were always available to help and provide quick feedback. You varied the methods of instruction in a way that held my interest. Thanks! I should have used this more; however, it was a good resource. A clearer description of just what social psy is and more empahsis on application to our fields. Thanks for a great experience!
The textbook was terrible. The saturday morning meetings were very informative. I wasn't impressed with several of the videos(Seinfeld in particular) but others were excellent. I don't think doing the research paper helped at all. Even trying to look at the course from a broadening your horizons viewpoint, I don't believe the course provided any meaning full information. I might be proved wrong in the future but I don't believe so. With that said, I have to say that I did find the saturday morning content and comments interesting. It is always worthwhile (well, almost always), to hear others viewpoints and try to understand differing points of view. Very little no comments no
It was an interesting course The website helped me to understand some of the requirments better and it gave me a better understanding of the readings that were required. N/A No comment
The course was well-designed The sections on the subject matter were enjoyable. I used
them as supplementary material for each chapter.
N/A Instructor was accessible, which I feel is important.
The topics covered in the class were both timely and appropriate.
I felt the proposal was one giant guessing game with very little direction given by
the instructor.
The website was helpful.  More help for the proposal would have been
beneficial.
A little more help on the proposal would be helpful.
I recommend you keep the in-class routine the same.
Dr. Whatley was always well prepared for each lessons.  The lectures were knowledge based and always sprinkled with humor. I do feel, however, more help should have been provided for
the proposal.
