I thought the class was beneficial as far as getting the material across. I enjoyed the segments you
would show from movies as examples. These segments helped me relate the concept to actuality.
Also, your website was a great help to me. The quizzes and lecture notes that were posted
helped me keep up and study. I liked the fact that you gave equal opportunity for extra credit
and our speedy test grade.

I enjoyed the class. I would have enjoyed it even more if it hadn’t been an 8:00 am class. I love
the web page lectures and grade posts. I enjoyed the movie clips and segments. I enjoyed and
actually was more eager to create a game project rather than prepare a boring research paper. I
think the class is great the way it is.

I think that this has been a great class. You give opportunities for extra-credit and this is a big
helper. You are willing to help. Most importantly, you treat your students with respect. Your class
is very helpful and your grading is reasonable. All in all, don’t change a thing.

I thought this class was very interesting. Even though I didn’t make a good grade on any of the
tests, I still had fun. I think Dr. Whatley has a very good attitude towards teaching and that’s what
made me want to come, because he was funny and he made jokes within the lectures. He wasn’t
just a monotone old buzzard. Nothing needs to change.

I loved it! I have never enjoyed a class as much as I have this one. It was well worth my time, and
getting up at 7:45. Psychology is a tough subject to learn, but you have taught it well. It was hard as
hell to grasp the concepts at times, but that was to be expected. I have recommended
this class to everyone.

I really, really, really enjoyed this class. You are an excellent teacher who is, or seems to be, very
enthusiastic about your job. You were very willing to give us the chance to raise our grade and help
us out in any way. You sparked my interest in psychology and I have recommended this class
to several of my friends.

I really enjoyed the class. You make every effort to make this class passable. Having notes and
sample tests on the web is great and very helpful. One thing that has helped me is your use of
videos to enhance learning. Not having another paper to write is very nice—less stress in my life.

I’m so glad that I took psych 2500. As a result, I would like to study psychology further. This class
helped me to understand many concepts that I’ve ignored before. Now, I can understand people
and how the world is a little better. I like how his tests are these are fair and the extra-credit
opportunities he gave us. I love the idea of creating a psychology game instead of a paper. This
helps and encourages the creativity and makes psychology fun to learn. If I had a choice to take this
class again, I would. This class was great! I love a teacher with a sense of humor. Keep your
humor!

I found  this class informative and educational. The use of the computer in class and the video clips
contributed in making the class more interesting. I especially like the web site, so, if I happened to
miss a class I could get the class lesson from the web.

I’ve enjoyed this class, however I wish I would have taken an hour or two later in the day because
8:00 is pretty early for me. I think you were fair with the grading because of the cheat sheet and all
the extra-credit stuff even though not many people have A’s. And you do need to change one thing
on the web site…the dunking scene, because you can’t dunk!

I enjoyed the class for two reasons: the material and the professor. I know that I didn’t work as
hard as I could have to earn an “A,” but I did appreciate the class. I think it would help to
elaborate a little more on the notes. For those people who take notes in class instead of printing
them from the web page, it’s difficult to write down the extra things that you say as well as the
actual notes in the given amount of time. That’s all I have a suggestion for. Keep up the good
humor!

Dr. Whatley’s class was a very in-depth, informative class. I really learned a lot. Dr. Whatley did
an excellent job of giving examples to help us relate to the “Greek” of this psychology. Dr. Whatley
appears to be a very concerned and fair professor. He provided lectures on the web so that you
wouldn’t have to waste time in class trying to write everything down. Dr. Whatley gave a lot of
extra-credit to help with test grades which was a great gesture. Overall, the class was okay – I
would take another class from him. Improvements include – well nothing I can think of now, but I’ll
let you know – I have your e-mail address.

In the beginning I did not like this class at all! Eventually, I realized that it was just because I
struggle with Psychology. For some reason it just doesn’t click with me. Which really surprised me
because I work a lot with people and with special ed. I thought I was good with dealing with the
thoughts of people. I realized there is a lot more to it. However, I really enjoyed your class. You
made it fun and very interesting. Even though my grade isn’t exactly what I want I know I have
tried. The only thing wrong is the tests seem really difficult. But thank you for all the extra stuff you
do for us outside of class. Like the quizzes, lecture notes, and extra credit.

I like this course, even though I had a little trouble with it. I think putting up the notes on the
overhead was a good idea because some people are visual learners and learn by looking at the
notes. It also helps students get all the notes down. The internet access is also a great idea. Being
able to get the notes from it helps a lot because you can print them out and then just listen to the
professor and write extra information. Also, the practice quizzes on the net help a lot too and
prepare you for tests.

I enjoyed this class, because it was very interesting and useful. I also enjoyed the website because
it was very helpful when I need to find out what I make on a test. I find it hard to believe that most
professors don’t make use of the internet, but not in this course. The course also went along
prudently with the book.

I found this class very entertaining and educational even though it was early in the morning I didn’t
fall asleep. I like the notes on the web a lot! But my favorite thing was the cheat sheet. I also liked
the way you incorporate different mediums into your lecture.

I found this class to be one of my more productive classes in learning. Getting on the website was
never a problem and the lessons were always ready to be typed on time. Only having 4 tests
throughout the semester was crucial to my grade, but I enjoyed all the help that was given to get a
better grade. I would rather have a few quizzes between tests, but it is not a necessity to change.

The thing that I liked best about the class was there was always something else to help you
understand the notes not just a  lecture. The demonstrations and movie clips helped me
understand a lot better. I thought it made the class more interesting and fun.

I liked this particular psychology class for one because; it was recommended that I take Dr.
Whatley’s class, because you’re a cool teacher as well as one who teaches and the
student learns. You take the time to post quizzes and notes on the internet – that’s fantastic. You
give various extra credit opportunities – that is fabulous also. I have learned interesting things in this
class in a fun way. I see no room for improvement!

The class…My opinion of this class was that I thought it was well-structured in a way to learn a lot
of information about psychology. I personally enjoyed the clips and class demonstrations because
it really explained what you and the psychology book were talking about.

I really like this whole class. Dr. Whatley helps make psych 2500 interesting. The way that he has
his website set up is a really nice and helpful way for us as students to either get ahead or catch up
with his lectures. I hope he doesn’t change the way that he teaches his class. I have actually
suggested to some of my friends for them to take his class.

I thought that the class was very interesting because I’ve taken psy 2500 before and earned a C in
the class because I was very bored and didn’t learn anything from the class. I liked how you gave
examples and also your lectures were very informative, even though your tests were hard. I
enjoyed doing the game project also, even though I was kind of scared about speaking in front
of the class.

I thought the class was very interesting. Lectures can be boring, however clever comments and
funny stories always helped to make the time pass quicker. Psychology for the most part is an
interesting subject and the way you presented the material to the class was well done. I think
you should show more clips from movies, those really helped get your point across about a topic. Overall, keep up the good work! 

It was creative, but a lot harder than I expected! You have an interesting class! It might be good
for you to re-evaluate your tests. Thanks for being understanding with me missing class because
of the doctor.

I think that the class was great. The use of video and powerpoint presentations made the material
interesting and feasible. Having all the materials on the web gave me easy access to things when I
needed them. You made the class fun and you are a great teacher. It is a wonderful class. I see no
reason to change anything.

I was kind of worried about taking psychology at first, because I heard a lot on how difficult it is
and how the teachers that taught the course were hard. Even that the class is at 8:00 am in the
morning you tried to keep it interesting, that is what I like the most.

I think the class was presented very well. I really think the online tests were very helpful when
studying. Extra credit was available which was very good. The movies and short clips gave me a
better understanding of what we were reviewing. Overall, this is a great class and I would
recommend it to other students. My mother will be taking one of your graduate courses.

I think the course is o.k., we went kind of fast, but then again, we had a lot of material to cover.
I think in the future you should add more experiments to your objectives for the class. I really
enjoyed the experiments. The web site is a big plus.

I think this was a good class. You were more than fair about the tests. you gave us plenty of
chances to get extra credit. You also try to make it interesting. I like the way you use videos to
give examples too. Your tests aren’t the easiest but that is good too.
