7th Grade Geometry

            This web page contains links for teachers, students, and parents. The teacher links provide access to lesson plans, printable materials, and interactive activities that are ready to be used in the classroom. The student links provide access to sites that can help students with homework, sites with educational games, and sites with math challenges and puzzles. The parent sites provide access to sites that explain what 7th grade students should be able to know and understand about geometry, sites with math challenges to get the whole family involved in math, and sites that provide help for parents who want to know how to better help their children.

Teacher Sites

These sites were chosen with teachers in mind, but parents may find these sites useful as well. Some of these sites provide background lessons for different concepts; other sites provide printable worksheets or interactive lessons that can be used in the classroom.

An Introduction to Quadrilaterals - This site introduces quadrilaterals and their properties, the terminology used with quadrilaterals, and provides practice creating quadrilaterals.

Geometry Lesson Plans - This teacher site includes geometry lesson plans for almost every grade.

Geometry Standard for Grades 6-8 - This site provides a description of what middle grades students are expected to know and understand about geometry.

Geometry Lessons - An extensive collection of geometry lessons.

InterMath - The Intermath Project is an internet-based project with activities and investigations aimed at enhancing teachers' understanding of mathematical concepts. The activities can be modified for use with students.

Awesome Library - This is truly an awesome library of math lessons. From this site teachers can access other sites with tons of teacher resources.

Student Sites

Students will find these sites very appealing, and parents will enjoy visiting some of these sites with their child. All these links provide access to ways to practice math concepts without having to resort to the traditional method of paper and pencil. The sites include games and puzzles, as well homework help and tips for being successful in the classroom. Everything found in these sites will help students become more successful in the math classroom.

A Math Dictionary for Kids by Jenny Eather - This is a very colorful online math dictionary for kids.

Math Forum for Kids - This site is designed for middle school kids. Lots of cool kid stuff at this site, including games, puzzles, projects, and internet activities, just to name a few.

Brain Teasers - Houghton Mifflin publishes a brain teaser each week along with hints on which strategy to use in order to solve the teaser. The answer, along with a new problem, is published the following week.

Math Help - This kid-friendly site provides links to information about learning styles, study skills, reducing math anxiety, and math tutorials.
