Fire and Vegetation Dynamics at Moody Air Force Base
In collaboration with Dr. Richard Carter of VSU.
We are examining how the fire regime at Moody Air Force Base impacts the vegetation dynamics in different habitat types. The goal of the project is to determine if fire can be effectively used to maintain ecological integrity while not impacting base readiness and operational activities. The project consists of repeated pre and post-burn censuses of permanent vegetation plots across different habitat types. Opportunities for student involvement include assisting with the vegetation censuses and data analysis.
