I Need a Count:
Surveys, Tables & Graphs


Tables and graphs can be developed from calculated information.  Therefore, a count or survey will need to be taken to provide this information.
Examples of information that can be gathered to use as data to develop the tables and graphs.
Survey class: What is Your Favorite Pet?
Gather information: Countries with the Largest Number of Earthquakes
Compare the 1990 and the 2000 Population of Cities, States, or Countries
Track the Eruptions of Active Volcanoes
Compare Weather of Cities Around the World
Survey Class: In Which Country Were You Born?  Your Parents?  Your Grand Parents?  Your Great-Grand Parents?
After gathering information or taking a survey, then you are ready to  enter your data
Open Microsoft Excel, a spreadsheet program
Enter your information into the table: See Example
Highlight the information in your Excel table.  Select Chart Wizard from toolbar: See Example
Follow directions of Chart Wizard and select and fill in as needed: See Example
Charts and tables can printed or published on the Internet to present or share with others.
