Internet Activities
Ms. Walker's class and I chose to do the Rain Forest due to the fact that they were studying that topic. The Rain Forest really fascinated and intrigued many of the children. I know the children learned a great deal about plants and animals from my webpage. However, I doubt that they learned nearly as much as I did. I enjoyed this topic at least as much as the children.
Krystal chose to do activity #1. As she searched through the site looking at all the animals her favorite happened to be the Ulysses Butterfly.
Activity
#1
Krystal
said, "I liked the Ulysses Butterfly better than all the other animals
in the Rain Forest. They are only found in the Rain Forest.
I wish we had them in Georgia. They were real pretty to me.
They are all blue and this helps them hide from birds. They are found
in the canopy."
Anthony chose activity #2. He said that he would really like to debate about saving the Rain Forest. His picture depicts the reasons that he feels that we should save the Rain Forest.
Activity #2
Anthony listed his reason for saving the Rain Forest above his picture.
However, it is hard to read. He wrote: "We should save the Rain Forest
because of all the cool animals and trees. We can get medicine, too!"
Reflection
This was a wonderful experience. I learned so much from this internet
project and from the children that I worked with. I hope that these
activities can help someone else. The children loved using technology.
I hope to integrate as much technology into my own classroom as possible.
Children enjoy this kind of learning so much that they do not realize that
learning is actually taking place.
